Hotel Dreamland Puri

Though the hotel is situated at a beautiful location, the maintenance is absolutely terrible. We had a sea facing room at the fourth floor but 90% of the times the lift was non functional. The stairs were crusted with dirt. For every little thing we had to call up and ask.I would rate a 1 out of 10 for maintenance. The food, however, was delicious, extraordinary and so was the service. Everyone attended to us with a smiling face. The Kitchen/catering manager was amicable and took great care of us. Thus, though the view, the behaviour of the staff and the food can be rated A+, the lift and general cleanliness is definitely a F!

The worst experience ever.. hospitality is horrible.. no consideration for elderly people. They continue to accept booking/guests with the construction work ongoing within the hotel until 9pm. The room was small, smelly and untidy. Most of the staff is unbothered, rude and rarely ever available. Details below but personally I felt the hotel is not equipped to accept guests (esp. families). Spoke to the hotel by taking the number from google and pre-booked the room (front sea facing for 2 days; almost 1.5 weeks prior) basis their confirmation. They asked for 50% as the advance which we paid. Just a day before arrival they informed us saying the lift is under maintenance hence specified another room number but confirmed it was sea facing. Once we arrived they changed the room number again and kept pushing for that room. Despite stating the fact that we had paid for the room, elderly parents, pre-confirmation on the room number they did not bother to respond well. Since we had paid .. we took that room on the first floor. Sharp at 3pm there was full scale drilling noise right above the room assigned to us. Also the hampering and thumbing noises went all until 9pm. Despite flagging it to the hotel staff, no one bothered to respond. They informed us after a while stating that lift work was ongoing hence this will continue to go on until 5pm. But the drilling went on beyond that time. Hotel staff was busy chit chatting without caring a damn. They further went on stating that the construction will continue for few days. We had to go for an early checkout.. :( ruined our trip!

Horrible experience. The lift doesn't work, in spite of having guest in the hotel they continued construction work which was such a pain. Bad service. The intercom phone had a kilo dust. Cockroaches roaming around. Would never visit this place ever. Not kid friendly. Not old age friendly. And they don't care if you are complaining.
